
The Portsoy Marble is a beautifully coloured serpentinite rock which has been worked for furniture, jewellery and sculpture over 350 years.
The talk guides us through the history of its exploitation, including the contributions of scientists, lapidarists and literature to a distinctive aspect of the culture of the north-east.
