What is GeoWeek?

Launched in 2018, GeoWeek aims to encourage ‘active geoscience’ – running events for people all round the UK to experience geology locally. While the hugely successful ‘Geolodia’ in Spain is focused on a single weekend, GeoWeek spans two so as to include weekday events as well.

If you want to learn more about the history of our planet, and learn how understanding how the Earth works helps us all live on the planet sustainably, get involved with GeoWeek outdoor activities taking place across the UK between 25th May – 2nd June 2024. GeoWeek Launch Event: Earth Science for Everyone!

GeoWeek 2024 will launch at an online event on Thursday 23rd May at 7pm. This online evening event will feature a couple of short talks from experts in Earth Science public engagement, showcasing different ways to bring geoscience to everyone enthusiastically and informatively. The speakers will then be joined by other Earth Science educators for an informal panel discussion on engaging the public with geoscience – sharing ideas, experience and advice. What can I do for GeoWeek?
