Guided Walk: Rocks in Roslin Glen: a record of a swampy past

4 October 2025 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

- Free

The rocks we can see in Roslin Glen tell us what the Lothians were like during the Carboniferous Period, when the coal deposits formed that have been so important to the area. Dr Mark Wilkinson, a geologist from the University of Edinburgh, will lead a short walk though the glen.

The total walk is about 4km on paths, but sturdy shoes are recommended.

Saturday 4th October. Meet for 10am at the main car park for Roslin Glen Country Park: https://www.midlothian.gov.uk/directory_record/171/roslin_glen_country_park

Free, but booking required. Book here
