Guided walk: Igneous rocks of Edinburgh – Arthur’s Seat

1 October 2024 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

- £10

Join Angus Miller from Geowalks for a guided walk exploring the igneous rocks of Edinburgh at Arthur’s Seat. This circuit of Holyrood Park will take in all the geological highlights, drilling down through the layers of the extinct volcano to explore different parts of the volcanic complex. We’ll walk across lava flows on Whinny Hill, dive into the crater area in the slopes of Arthur’s Seat, and circle back around to our starting point along the top of Salisbury Crags – giving us superb views over the city of Edinburgh and a wider perspective on the geological history of Edinburgh.

Cost: £10, free for young people. Booking essential. See the Geowalks website for booking and further information.
