Geology Weekend at Arbroath Signal Tower Museum

Head along to Arbroath Signal Tower Museum on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September from 10:30am – 4pm to learn all about the types of rocks you can find along the Angus Coast!

Explore a selection of rocks, pebbles fossils and agates from the local Angus Coast and learn about the world beneath your feet!

There will also be a selection of minerals that fluoresce under ultraviolet light for you to marvel at in the education centre.

Don’t miss a talk by local geologists on ‘How Geology Shaped Us’ at 1:00pm.

This is a free drop-in event, no booking required. Please note, last admission to the museum is 30 minutes before closing.

Venue: Signal Tower Museum Courtyard, Ladyloan, Arbroath DD11 1PU.

Signal Tower Museum is located near Arbroath’s picturesque and busy harbour, in a complex of buildings which were originally used as the shore station and accommodation for the Bell Rock Lighthouse. Built in 1813, Signal Tower served the lighthouse until it was decommissioned in 1955 and became a museum in 1974.
