CowalFest Geology Walk: Innellan

Join Dr Keith Torrance for a 4km walk across 300 million years of geological history along the foreshore of Innellan, where the Highland Boundary Fault separates the metamorphic rocks of the Highlands from the sedimentary sequences of the Midland Valley.

Highlights include a sliver of the ancient Iapetus Ocean, which separated Scotland from England, preserved as a narrow serpentinite belt that parallels the fault zone.

Meet at the Old Pier next to Innellan Village Hall -10am start.

Suitable of all ages and interest levels.
