The Scottish Geology Trust’s Geosites project aims to bring information about Scotland’s important geological sites together in one place, to make it easy for people to find out about them, share information and report issues. In just 16 months, the project’s volunteers have created a new Geosites map interface and uploaded photos and information about over 350 sites. At the same time, the Geoguide website has made over 4,000 pages of information available online, for over 20,000 mapped locations.
Together, these initiatives represent a hugely significant improvement in the online information available about Scotland’s geology. Join project leader Angus Miller and other project volunteers to find out more about Geosites and Geoguide, including an overview of what is available, how to navigate the information, and how you can contribute to this amazing resource.
