SUMMARY:(Rescheduled) Guided Walk: The Geology of Rouken Glen Park
DESCRIPTION:Please note this walk was originally scheduled to take place on the 4th of October however\, due to the severe weathering warnings in force\, it has been rescheduled and will now take place on the 25th October. \nJoin Margaret Greene\, President – Geological Society of Glasgow\, for a guided walk to explore over 300 million years of history around Rouken Glen Park. Discover rocks deposited at a time when Scotland was close to the equator and the area was part of a huge coastal plain on the edge of a shallow sea\, experiencing a hot\, tropical and humid climate. \nThe walk will follow the leaflet on the geology of the park produced by East Renfrewshire and available on the Glasgow Geological Society website. \nSaturday 25th October at 11am.
