The Yorkshire Fossil Festival is back again from the 16th–18th September 2022, in Scarborough, UK! Join Scottish Geology Trust Trustee and Festival Director Dr Katie Strang for the William Smith lecture on the Saturday! The talk titled “Jaws & Jobbies: Palaeokatie’s Guide to Ancient Life in the Age of Coal” will look at the incredible fossil heritage of the Carboniferous deposits found throughout parts of Scotland and Northern England!
The Yorkshire Fossil Festival is organised by Scarborough Museums and Galleries and funded by Yorkshire Coast BID, The Palaeontological Association and other partners. The Festival seeks to enlighten and engage families and young people in the world of Geology and Earth Sciences. Visitors can become immersed in all things fossils and dinosaurs, many originating from Scarborough and the Yorkshire Coast.
