Coprolites are the fossilised excrement of organisms, in other words – fossilised faeces! Scotland is famous for many things, but not many people know that Scotland is home to some spectacular fossil jobbies! This talk will look at a range of Caledonian coprolites, and why palaeontologists love fossil poo so much! From East Lothian and Wardie coprolites, to fantastic Fife faeces – what can these tell us about the behaviour, and diets, of animals over 300 million years ago?
