Columnar Basalt lava is a remarkable natural phenomenon and is found in many places throughout Mull and the other islands nearby. This talk, lavishly illustrated with the speaker’s own photos of these rocks will showcase the best places to see it, explain how it is formed and what it tells us about the ancient landscape onto which these lavas flowed. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the talk.
