Come meet up with geologists and biologists who will help you explore the variety of pebbles, how they were formed and how this links to the types of wildlife that can live in the area.
This is a drop in event, so you can turn up at a time that suits you and spend as as long as you like talking to the experts.
Milldown Beach can be accessed from the main beach – Coldingham Sands. There is a small Car Park adjacent to the beach and from here you walk down the short, but fairly steep, access road to the beach. Once you reach the main beach follow the path past the cafe and up the steep, short hill on the South end. At the other side of this hill you will come to Milldown Beach – a secluded pebble Bay. Disabled Access parking is available for two cars down at the beach. If the beach car park is full other car parking is available in Coldingham Village (1 mile walk). The path to Milldown can be uneven underfoot, particularly when wet, so appropriate footwear is recommended. There are toilets on the main beach, and facilities in the Beach Cafe.
