Taking advantage of a very low tide, a short coastal walk across a classic Dalradian section, with Ballachulish Slates, Appin Quartzites and Appin Limestone formations. A beach and rock walk, returning either on the shore or on the A82 cycle path. Meet point at the North Ballachulish View Point and picnic site, 13.30, low water c.14.50, back c.16.30. Walked distance about 3 kilometres. £20 per person.
All excursions require walking boots or similar, waterproofs, packed lunch. Cameras and binoculars recommended.
These eight excursions are a sample of the Geotours being run by Lochaber Geopark this autumn. Other Geotours are also available. Geotours during the Scottish geology Festival are individually priced, per person per day, with a half-price rate for ‘Friends of Lochaber Geopark’ members (£30 pa single membership).
