Lochaber Geopark: The abandoned Corrantee Lead Mine, forest and moorland hill day walk

A walk up a hillside to the Corrantee Lead Mine, using the forest track from Polloch. Augen Gneiss Moine rocks, then the abandoned lead mine and buildings (very rough ground). Meet at Corran Ferry 09.00, Strontian 10.00, returning about 4/5.00pm. Walked distance about 6 kilometres; the forest road is steep in places. £50 per person.

All excursions require walking boots or similar, waterproofs, packed lunch. Cameras and binoculars recommended.
These eight excursions are a sample of the Geotours being run by Lochaber Geopark this autumn. Other Geotours are also available. Geotours during the Scottish geology Festival are individually priced, per person per day, with a half-price rate for ‘Friends of Lochaber Geopark’ members (£30 pa single membership).

Booking Essential; as numbers during ‘Covid Time’ are very limited, up to 8/10 people in 2/3 cars per excursion, to follow the guide’s car.
