Girls into Geoscience is aimed at girls about to undertake/taking Highers (ages 14-17) who are interested in finding out more about the geosciences and the directions it could take them. Teachers are more than welcome along too. Geoscience is a diverse subject and our talks and workshops highlight this with aspects of chemistry, biology, physics and geography coming together.
The first resource we have on show is our virtual field trip to Siccar Point led by Dr Amanda Owen. This resource is aimed at 15-18 year olds, introducing them into the world of field work, how we interpret ancient environments, and how we record data in the field. There are a series of short (5-10 minutes) Youtube videos, links for which can be found in the document.
This online activity is open to everyone and though it is geared towards girls in STEM, all are welcome to participate.
